My old site from 2006/ish, when I was freelancing much more actively. I had made a personal brand with matching business cards, advertising ‘quality, compliant websites’, because I was very much in favor of web standards and cutting-edge (for the time) design. I also had a custom WordPress theme with which to blog about the benefits of web standards, or at least link to important writers in the community. It was an opportunity to experiment with PHP/MySQL to create a database-driven site from scratch, and learn the basics.
